MEET THE ATHLETE

Already the winner of European and World Championships in women’s triathlon, Nicola won the Gold Medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games in a time of 1hr 59min 48sec, after a photo finish with Lisa Norden of Norway. She became only the second Swiss athlete to do so. She withdrew from competition in 2013 to have her first child, but returned a year later in strong form. She also has a law degree, demonstrating that she is not just an extremely talented, tenacious top class athlete, but also has impeccable maternal and academic credentials. Nicola is a strong believer in the influence a racing suit can have on race performance, and has described the suit as one important piece in the whole picture puzzle of achieving high performance. Her extraordinarily detailed concerns about finding perfection in her own suit have made working with her an extremely pleasurable and rewarding experience for Descente’s design team.
